1. Submissions written in English should follow the Chicago Manual of Style except with respect to the following items.
2. For translations of Chinese works cited in the text, the Chinese characters (not romanization) of the original titles should be given the first time they appear, e.g. Journey to the West 西游记, “Dreams and Poetry” 梦与诗.
3. For initial citations of works in Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, romanization followed by the title in the original and a commonly accepted translation, if any, should be given (use parentheses if both the title and a translation are provided), as such: Ming dai zhengzhi zhidu yanjiu 明代政治制度研究, Yi jing (易经Book of Changes).
4. Citations should generally follow the literature/history format. Footnotes in the text should be demarcated with Arabic numerals. All relevant information should be clearly and concisely listed within a footnote at the bottom of the page the citation appears on, and should not appear within the main text itself.

一、书刊名、篇名之符号︰

1. 中文书名、期刊名、报纸、剧本为《》；论文篇名、诗篇为〈〉。学位论文等未出版者请採用「」。
2. 单指一书中某篇文章时两者并用，如《史记》〈项羽本纪〉，《诗经》〈豳风．七月〉。
3. 西文书名採用斜体，如无法作斜体处理时，请在书名下划线；篇名则採用” “。

二、引文：

短引文可用引号直接引入正文；长引文可作独立引文，不加引号，但每行起首均缩入三格。引文部分请忠於古版之原文。

三、註释方式以採用传统文史方式为原则：

文章内以阿拉伯数字为註码，无须加括号，置於标点符号之後。註码请以全篇作一计算单位，使用同一顺序，註文则置於註码当页下方（随文註）。文稿内引用文字之註释应详列出处於註文内，请勿放於行文中，包括︰引述之著作者姓名，篇名或书名（出版地：出版者，出版年），卷期及页码等。其格式例示如下：
