Dr. Marta Lorenzon is an archaeologist and historian of the ancient world whose research focuses on urbanism, architecture, and social inequality in pre-modern societies. She is currently an Academy Research Fellow at the University of Helsinki and serves as Vice-Leader of the Material Culture and Community Heritage team at the Centre of Excellence in Ancient Near Eastern Empires. Since 2005, her work has examined how cities in the Mediterranean, Western Asia, and beyond were shaped by construction practices, labour organization, and environmental conditions. Integrating historical analysis with archaeological and environmental evidence, her research explores how built environments structured everyday social life. She is Principal Investigator of the projects EARTH (Research Council of Finland, 2022–27) and Building in New Lands (Kone Foundation, 2022–26).

2026年1月27日學術講座「Building Inequality: Urban Space, Architecture, and Social Life in the Ancient World」片段重溫
