此學科嘗試從歷史和人類學的角度，考察在香港的市區和鄉村地方慶祝的傳統中國節日，從而理解在急劇都市化和近代化的過程中，作為非物資文化遺產的節日如何被保護、改變和重新詮釋。

• 讓學生全面認識在香港不同社會因素下，中國非物質文化遺產的適應與轉變。
• 透過參與觀察，收集與分析資料，讓學生掌握歷史人類學的方法與理論，以歷史的視角從事田野研究。
• 利用跨學科方法，培養學生理解自身的傳統，欣賞他人的生活方式。

10. 二十世紀九十年代海外移民對地方傳統節慶的影響

12. 香港主權回歸前後的傳統節慶：記憶與遺忘

課程評核

1. 課堂參與（佔10%）：上課、提問及參與討論。
2. 田野考察報告（佔30%）：

課程期間將會有兩次田野考察活動，同學必須出席其中一次，並於考察完結後，撰寫「田野考察」報告一篇，詳情將會在課堂上介紹。

1. 學期論文（佔50%）

選取任何一項「香港傳統中國節日」作為學期論文題目，結合田野與文獻資料，撰寫約5,000字的學期論文，於2025年4月18日（星期五）前以Veriguide提交。

2. 學期論文研究計劃（10%）

必須於2025年3月28日前提交草擬之學期論文研究計劃，依導師意見進行修改。

The submission of a piece of work, or a part of a piece of work, for more than one purpose (e.g. to satisfy the requirements in two different courses) without declaration to this effect shall be regarded as having committed undeclared multiple submissions. It is common and acceptable to reuse a turn of phrase or a sentence or two from one’s own work; but wholesale reuse is problematic. In any case, agreement from the course teacher(s) concerned should be obtained prior to the submission of the piece of work.
