Programme Structure


Internship Briefing Workshop

  • Tentative to be scheduled in April

  • Introduction of the internship programme

Pre-departure Orientation Workshop

  • Tentative to be scheduled in May

  • Introduction on preparation for work and means of maximizing the learning outcomes

  • Basic communication skills in the work place

Internship at the workplace (around four weeks)

  • From mid May to August

  • Students will be assigned to different companies for internship

  • Department will liaise with placement organizations on performance of interns

  • Department will contact interns regularly to collect feedbacks about their problems encountered in the work place.

Internship Programme Review Workshop

  • Tentatively to be scheduled in August

  • Sharing of the working experience during the internship period

  • Collecting feedbacks from interns in order to have a continuous improvement of the Programme

Upon Completion of the Internship Programme

  • Within a month on the completion of the internship, students are required to submit a programme report to the department

  • At the end of the programme, Department will send the "Internship Evaluation Form" to the head of internship organizations to evaluate the performance of interns

  • Interns may apply for the Summer Internship Certificate from the Department, from which the following requirements should be fulfilled:

    1. An attendance rate at the work place is reached at least 80%;

    2. An overall performance is evaluated by the respective supervisor of the placement organization as good or above.
